I published a page on loneliness awhile ago, unfortunately I neglected to include information on combating loneliness. Loneliness can cause depression, hypertension (high blood pressure), sleep disorders, and a weakened immune system. Loneliness is a response necessary to living beings in that it encourages connection to others, you feel lonely and then you react by making connections. Some people cannot connect so easily and therein lies the problem, they need help. There is a sort of therapy for this problem and it is a do it yourself cure. Most professionals don't truly treat patients for loneliness, the problem has usually progressed beyond loneliness when professional help is sought.
